Handling conflicts for line coverage

Trading and C&C > Floating keys > Usage

This scenario illustrates how a trader can handle conflicts while using line coverage, i.e. two calls appear at the same time in the Floating Keys, one is hosted on a line that is Subscribed, one on a line that is Monitored and the trader cannot distinguish which is the most important to prioritize.

A new dedicated "If Ringing" value for the telephony line's In Floating Keys property allows distinguishing the two calls presented above.

LineFloatingOption

The description above assumes the following system configuration:

•A trader has a DDI line (DDI1) in Subscribed state with the "In Floating Keys" set to "Yes" in Subscribed mode.

•A trader has a DDI line (DDI2) in Monitored state with the "In Floating Keys" set to "If Ringing" in Monitored mode and a ring tone delay is set to 10 seconds.

Now, if the trader receives two calls (one on DDI1, one on DDI2), the Floating Keys will react in this fashion:

1. The call on DDI1 rings and is notified in the Floating keys

2. The call on DDI2 neither rings nor is notified in the Floating keys.

After 10 seconds:

3. The call on DDI2 begins to ring and appears in the Floating keys.

Note that this value only affects the incoming ringing calls; once a call has been accepted, its availability in the Floating Keys only depends on the standard Floating Keys configuration.
