Floating keys

Float keys are designed to operate as a mirror of keys programmed in the trader’s profile. Float keys reflect the state of those keys including indicators and labels, and enable traders to access the associated calls without having to change the active page. In this regards, they provide a powerful aid to traders: float keys avoid them missing call events and enable them to react in a single-touch operation.

Float keys are capable of mirroring following key types:

•Shortcut/contact keys – Whenever a distant party places a call to the trader’s personal line or to the line of trader belonging to the same group, the shortcut/contact key matching the distant party’s line starts alerting and is mirrored in the floating area. Traders just have to press the flashing float key to accept the call. The same capability is provided for calls which are put on hold either from the trader’s turret or from another turret in the group.

•Line keys – Whenever traders in the local group take a line on the handset or start talking publicly or privately to the distant party using the microphone, the line key associated to the distant party starts alerting and is mirrored in the floating area.  Traders can then join the line simply by pressing the float key.

•DDI slot keys – Similarly, shared DDI slot lines can be configured to float or not.

Traders have also the capability to activate/deactivate on-the-fly the float property on their primary/secondary lines and on each shared DDI lines registered in their profile.

Options are available to  IT & voice teams to accommodate various needs:

•Floating area can be configured to provide 15 or 30 keys depending on whether floating applet is configure as normal or big applet but it always displays maximum 25 keys;

•Float property can be switched on or off for the different types of line and call events. Coverage of trader’s line who belong to the same group are controlled similarly;

•Float key labels mirror exactly the text label which is displayed on the matching shortcut/contact/line key;

•Mirror the key state in the float area only if the key is not visible on the screen;

•Some rules are available to define the precedence of local events vs. distant events, float keys vs. call interception keys (CIK), duplicated events.
