Message waiting indicator

The Message Waiting Indicator informs traders that one or several new voice mails are pending in their voice mailbox.  Shared DDI lines have the ability to relay these notifications from the IP PBX switch to turrets.

Upon detection of a new voice mail, the Voicemail button starts flashing.

Traders can press the Voicemail button in order to call the voice mailbox extension.

Note

(1)Traders and IT & voice administrators have the ability to turn MWI on or off for each individual line.  A common practice is to enable MWI only on the trader’s personal DDI lines and on the turret primary extension.

(2)If IP PBX switch allows, voice mails received on the different traders line should be redirected to the same voice mailbox.
