DDI Sharing is an IPTrade concept used in multiple scenarios

1) Heterogeneous technologies are used and need to be handle with the same user experience: VoIP, RoIP and Private wires. All these technologies can be combined and offer the seamless usage through the same audio devices.

2) Minimal SIP support require. From the PBX point of view DDI Sharing behavior looks similar to a SIP end point with very limited requirements

a)SIP basic call establishment

b)Being able to put the call on hold

c)attended and unattended transfer

d)being able to place multiple calls from the same extension

With these requirements, pretty much features can be delivered to end users without relying on SIP extensions of the PBX. Moreover, some PBX provide added value features over SIP, TPO can also leverage them (Cisco Shared lines, ...) for deep integration with back office phones.

3) Common Lamping. Providing a native SIP technology to consilidate user view on what's going on his neighbour devices

4) Mobility. DDI Sharing provide the necessary framework in order to share sames features and collaboration over different platform (Soft turret, physical turret, web, android,...) without scarifying recording or performance aspects.
