Common lamping is the capability of shared DDI lines to notify in real-time traders of the state of the line and of the various call events for that line. Common lamping uses a combination of visual and audio alerts. Visual alerts are shown directly on the DDI slot key assigned to the call. Audio alerts are played on the default speaker according to the ring tones policy defined for the key. Options are available for selecting which information should be displayed on the DDI slot. It can be one or a combination of the following items Calling party DDI – The raw DDI number of the calling party is displayed; Shortcut/contact label – The system searches the trader’s profile for a contact/shortcut key whose extension matches the calling party DDI number; if there is a match, the shortcut/contact label is shown on the key, otherwise the raw DDI number is shown ; Trader/trader extension – The trader identifier or the primary extension of the trader who is talking on the line. When several traders are connected on the same line, the label CONFERENCE(n) is used in which n indicates the number of traders. See configuration details for technical details on this topic. |
