Talker identification |

When someone starts talking on the Instant-connect radio channel, the talker information is displayed next to the radio icon on the monitor entry (here, John Doe is talking).
Two types of talkers can be displayed, depending on the situation:
1.Radio talkers, received from the radio gateway. When someone talks from the radio side, it always has precedence over local talkers. If several radio talkers are active at the same time, the most recent one is displayed. 2.Local talkers; IPTrade users that talk on the line. If several local talkers are active at the same time, the most recent one is displayed.
To start talking on the line, user performs the traditional line speak state changes using the speak buttons on the monitor entries, and the Exclusive button on the handsets.
Talker identity display name matching
Talker information is available as digit numbers. To allow displaying more user-friendly names on the interface, this information is matched against two contacts databases, until a match is found:
1.The user profile shortcuts & contacts database. This allows each user to have his set of personal contacts to match with radio talkers. 2.An LDAP directory. If no matching shortcut is found in the user profile, the system queries the LDAP directory. See Turret configuration section.
The system looks in these two databases every time a new talker is on the radio channel and thus has to be displayed on the screen.
