Introduction

This section give helpful commands to check creation of maintenance plan tasks (events).

Show running threads

Show which thread are running. This statement is very useful if you get the “too many connections” error message and want to find out what is going on.

When the Event Scheduler is ON, the event scheduler thread is listed in the output as a daemon process (see id 3 on screenshot).

SHOW [FULL] PROCESSLIST;

Activate Event Scheduler

Events are executed by a special event scheduler thread; when we refer to the Event Scheduler, we actually refer to this thread.

If the Event Scheduler status has not been set to DISABLED, event_scheduler can be toggled between ON and OFF (using SET). It is also possible to use 0 for OFF, and 1 for ON when setting this variable.

SET GLOBAL event_scheduler = ON;

Display events

This statement displays information about Event Manager events. It requires the EVENT privilege for the database from which the events are to be shown.

List  all of the events in the current schema:

show events;

Note that for a recurring event, the value of "Execute at" column is always NULL. To determine if maintenance plan has run properly check deletion of rows following the given criterias.
