Local ducking

 Manual

When manual ducking is requested, the volume reduction applies to all active and non-selected speakers channels (independently of the monitoring applets).

ActiveNonSelected

The function is controlled by the mean of a toggle button available in the quick functions area.

•Speakers’ channels volumes are lowered when button is in on state

•Original speakers’ channels volumes are restored when button is in off state

Manual ducking feature is only available if “Ducking” button is configured as one of the user interface quick access button.

 Automatic

Automatic ducking is linked to the push-to-talk/broadcast on microphone feature.

Whenever the trader engages the microphone to talk to a single far party (push-to-talk) or to broadcast a message to several distant people, the system automatically lowers the volume of speakers’ channels which are not part of the talk.

Original volume levels are restored when the trader closes the microphone (applying persistency) or when user manually turns ducking off.

Automatic ducking can be enabled or disabled through user profile settings.

Global ducking

Global ducking is linked to OLD and open call features.

When another user takes an OLD line or an open call on handset or on hand frees, the system automatically lowers the volume of speakers’ channels of calls to the same line or to the same open call which are not part of the talk.

Original volume levels are restored when all traders close the microphone (without any persistency) or when user manually turns ducking off.

Global ducking can be enabled or disabled through user profile settings.

There is not persistency configurable on global ducking mode.

Ducking state monitoring

Ducking state (on/off) is displayed on manual ducking button(s).

When ducking is on manual ducking button is checked (orange)

When ducking is off manual ducking button is not checked (dark grey)

DuckingOn

DuckingOff

If persistency delay is configured: ducking button remains checked while persistency hasn’t expired. After configured delay, ducking mode is automatically turned off and button is accordingly turned not checked (dark grey).

Global ducking is not represented on ducking state button

Ducking and muted calls

Mute feature has a highest priority than ducking. It means that muted calls remain muted when ducking is turned "on". Calls that are muted while ducking is "on" remain muted when ducking turns "off".
