Introduction

This section describes the procedure to upgrade MySQL 5.7 to MySQL 8.0 on Windows Server.

Upgrade

MySQL does not integrate automatic updates inside its installer so following scenario must be done :

•Export the database from MySQL 5.7 as a backup security

•Install MySQL 8.0 on a different port than MySQL 5.7

•Run the UIM of the new TSS version

•You can now remove the old DB from MySQL 5.7
