Assign a firmware to all devices

Now that the new TPO firmware and TPO Bootstrap versions have been uploaded and are available on the TSS, they can be assigned and installed on TPO devices.

Those firmwares versions assignment can be performed at different levels, allowing a precise management of TPO devices:

1.To all devices by default: the default version that a device not following any of the rules below will adopt;

2.To the devices belonging to a specific zone: this allows assigning different versions to groups of devices;

3.To a specific device: assigning a version to only one device allows testing a new version (before applying it to all production devices for example). This rule has precedence over the two rules above.

This section describes the first case. See the following sections for case 2 and case 3.

Assigning a firmware to all devices

At the bottom-right of the Firmware Management list, the Tools box allows defining what firmware version is the default version for each device type.

TPOBootstrapGlobal.01

TPOFirmwareGlobal.01

Choose the newly uploaded version in the drop-down menu (here R7.4_0.24095 for TPO Bootstrap and R7.4_0.23950 for TPO Firmware), press the Apply button.

The new firmware version in the list now shows as default for devices (circle). Image below shows TPO Bootstrap firmware selected by default.

TPOBootstrapUpgrade.01

From now on, any TPO device (that has no specific version specified in its zone nor in its device itself) will install and use those new firmware versions.

Restart TPO is necessary to apply upgrade on TPO.
