The administrator must plug the RJ-9 cable into the turret headset port as well as plugging the base into the PC USB port (Not the XMA USB Ports, See here for port information Connectics ).
Configuration
1. On the TSS, edit the boot settings of the concerned turrets (Zone or Device Boot Settings).
2. Add the following settings :
Start the plantronics on device startup:
Location: Terminal Boot Settings
Global
Start external headset applications at startup
truefalse
Key: application.global.plantronics.start
Description: Start external headset applications before Turret application startup.
By default, this key is set to false and external headset applications are not started.
Constraint: true | false
Related settings: Use external headset (profile.setting.headset.plantronics) Start external headset Battery Status dependency (application.global.plantronics.batterystatus) Order of preference for call acceptation using the headset (profile.setting.kb.acceptincoming.order)
Force the activation of the device slot activation by adding the following key and setting its value to 7, and the value corresponding to the replaced handset if it is not physically connected (for example 7,0):
Location: Terminal Boot Settings
Devices
Force activation of the handset slot
Key: application.mm.forcehandsets
Description: Force the activation of the handset slot on the system. The handsets are in the format of a list of device ID separated by ",". The device ID depends on your turret model.
On model with XMA: - HS1 has device ID 0 - HS2 has device ID 1 - Headset has device ID 7 Note the value 7 + handset replacement device ID are needed for enabling the external headset on models with XMA
On model without XMA: - HS1 has device ID 5 - HS2 has device ID 4 - Headset has device ID 7 Note thid setting must NOT be present for external headset used with soft turret/without XMA
Constraint: 0,1,2,3,4,5,7
Related settings: Headset device association (profile.setting.hdswapdevice) External Loudspeaker (application.mm.externalLoudSpeaker) Use external headset (profile.setting.headset.plantronics)
3. (Re)boot the turret.
4. On the TSS, go to Account Management > Users.
5. Edit your user, go to the settings tab and add:
Description: Defines if the external headset is managed by the turret. This allows to accept any incoming call using the headset button, to play a ringtone in the headset and to drive TPO call talk request from headset mute button.
Currently, only Plantronics Savi 7XX models or Jabra Engage 65/75 support this feature.
How to connect your Plantronics Savi 7XX to device with XMA: - Plug USB cable in one of USB port of the panel PC (i.e. IEI module) - Plug Telephone Interface Cable in XMA headset port - Set "Start Plantronics application at startup" to true - Set "Headset device association" depending on your needs - Set "Use Plantronics headset" (this key) to true - Set "Force activation of the handset slot" to 7
How to connect your Plantronics Savi 7XX to device without XMA: - Plug USB cable in one of USB port of the panel PC (i.e. IEI module) - Adapt audio device configuration in order to use "Plantronics Savi 7XX" as HS1 or HS2 - Set "Start Plantronics application at startup" to true - Set "Headset device association" accordingly to audio device configuration - Set "USB headset instead of handset" accordingly to audio device configuration - Set "Use Plantronics headset" (this key) to true
An alternative way to configure this feature is to set the "Headset device association" to "none" and use the "On-the-fly audio device redirection" to redirect HS1 or HS2 to the headset.
Note: If the "Headset device association" is set to the SOURCE of the "On-the-fly audio device redirection", feature will work regardless the state of the redirection.
Note: Jabra Engage 65/75 is only supported on device with XMA2
Constraint: true|false
Only Plantronics Savi 7XX models or Jabra Engage 65/75 support this feature.
Related settings: Force activation of the handset slot (application.mm.forcehandsets) Headset device association (profile.setting.hdswapdevice) On-the-fly audio device redirection (profile.setting.accessbuttons.audiodevice) External headset - keep the loudspeaker tone (profile.setting.headset.plantronics.keepldtone) Start external headset applications at startup (application.global.plantronics.start) USB Headset instead of Handset (profile.setting.headset.plugged.as.handset) Order of preference for call acceptation using the headset (profile.setting.kb.acceptincoming.order) The lines that allow accepting calls using the headset (profile.setting.kb.acceptincoming.allowedlines)
Set the desired device association (for example HS1):
Description: Defines the logical device that the headset device will replace. The physical device is replaced by the headset device, but the calls are still at the same location on the user interface.
WARNING: the devices used in this key MUST NOT be used in the following key:
Example: profile.setting.accessbuttons.audiodevice = LD1:HD,LD1,HS2 CAN BE defined with profile.setting.hdswapdevice = HS2;LD2
but
profile.setting.accessbuttons.audiodevice = LD1:HD,LD1 CANNOT BE defined with profile.setting.hdswapdevice = HS2;LD1
WARNING: when replacing a handset: * Either the physical handset must be connected * Or its presence must be emulated with application.mm.forcehandsets
Constraint: HS1|HS2|LD1|LD2|HF1|HF2|LDI1|LDI2|HFI1|HFI2|none and certain combinations
HS1 or HS2: The handsets.
LD1 or LD2: The left or right loudpseaker, including the handfree (microphone) mode.
HF1 or HF2: The left or right handfree. Corresponding loudspeaker is still used until the microphone button is pressed.
LDI1 or LDI2: The left or right intercom loudpseaker, including the handfree (microphone) mode.
HFI1 or HFI2: The left or right intercom handfree. Corresponding loudspeaker is still used until the microphone button is pressed.
none: The headset is not used.
Combinations map the headset with multiple logical devices.
NOTES:
- Since Loudspeaker includes handfree, a combination of both is not a valid configuration.
- LDI1 and HFI1 are the default devices for intercom calls.
- It is not possible to do a combination of two devices of the same type, for example: HS1 and HS2, LD1 and LD2, etc..
