Pre-Deployed Linux OS setup

BT Call Server supports the following Linux OS distributions:

•Rocky Linux v10.x

•Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) v10.x

When creating or deploying the OS (e.g in your cloud provider), ensure the admin user “iptadmin” is created.

The user account "iptadmin" is required.
The scripted install will fail if this exact user does not exist.

If the OS was deployed with a different user, follow the steps below to create the “iptadmin” user with sudo (admin) rights.

Create the “iptadmin” user in the OS CLI

sudo adduser iptadmin

sudo passwd iptadmin

Set a secure password when prompted.

Add “iptadmin” to the “wheel” group

The wheel group on RHEL and Rocky Linux is pre-configured to grant sudo access.

sudo usermod -aG wheel iptadmin

Confirm group membership

id iptadmin

The output should look similar to:

uid=1001(iptadmin) gid=1001(iptadmin) groups=1001(iptadmin),10(wheel)

The OS is now staged and ready for the BT Call Server Scripted Install
