| Solution Integration > Media streaming to turrets |
Only one video channel can be played at a time.
When a private user profile inherits video streams for a shared profile linked to the user, it is not possible to order these stream entries inside the private profile. The order of the streams will be the same as defined in the shared profile, but these entries will be grouped by shared profile and displayed after the private profile's video stream entries.
A private profile can not unlink a video stream from a shared profile.
The logo image that can be defined for a video stream must be in PNG format.
The user can only have one video applet configured. If a private profile inherits the video applet from a shared profile, the first applet will be initialized (example: if the shared profile have the video applet inside applet 3 and private profile have the video applet inside applet 4, the shared profile video applet will be displayed). In order to ensure the private profile video applet is displayed instead of the shared profile video applet, the private profile must overwrite the applet configuration by an other applet (example: calculator applet).
The system does not prevent potential cathedral-effect when multiple traders listen to the same channel on the speaker.
Maximum resolution supported for video streaming : 1280x720p/30fps.
Turret supports all audio, video and encapsulation formats supported by libVLC 2.2.0, but performance may be limited due to turret hardware, network and integration of the video inside the application. There is a risk of performance issues on the video stream that can impact the whole application, especially when playing high resolution videos or when using some encapsulation methods or audio/video codecs.
List of supported format can be found here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html#features-all-formats (be carefull as this page may contain information that is not valid for version 2.2.0) More details on release 2.2.0: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/releases/2.2.0.html
Raw Audio => Multicast directly between Source and Turret XMA2 Static IP => Multicast between Source and TPO - Unicast between TPO and Turret But in both cases, you can only use Codecs that are supported by the devices themselves: TPO: G711µ and G711a XMA2: G711µ, G711a, and G729 Only the Video Applet which uses VLC and thus all its decoding capabilities will be able to accept MPEG. |
