DTMF over SIP

Sending DTMF over SIP messages is possible by configuring it. To use this technic, DTMF over KPML subscription key must be enabled (see Configure section after).

If calls are made through TPO, DTMF over KPML subscription key must be enabled on TPO and on turret. If only turret has this key enabled, DTMFs won't be sent.

DTMFs can be sent manually from the Dialpad once a call is established or both IT administrators and trading platform / console users can add a DTMF sequence to a call key's extension.

For calls made from a line directly registered from turret, if DTMF could not be sent over SIP, it falls back on RTP stream.

RTP exceptions

It is also possible to force a specific call key to use RTP DTMFs even when DTMF over KPML subscription key is enabled.

This can be useful for specific targets that require to use the RTP mode.

To achieve this, the DTMF sequence in a call key's extension can be prefixed with a R:

043659874,R(2)2(4)*/1

In this example, the system will switch to RTP DTMFs only for calls placed using that specific call key, and will use the default mode for all call keys that do not contain R.
