Splunk (Enterprise or Cloud) is a data collection, indexing, and visualization service. This software product enables you to search, analyze, and visualize the data gathered from the components of your IT infrastructure or business, as the TSS applications.

The TSS Console and TSS API use the Splunk HTTP Event Collector (HEC) as a fast and efficient way to send audit data to Splunk Indexers (Enterprise and Cloud) via HTTP (or HTTPS).

HTTP Event Collector (HEC) is a token-based HTTP/JSON API, so you never need to hard-code your Splunk credentials in your app configuration or supporting files.
