The setup is more complex because there are several entities to configure.

In DNS mode, when using only one cluster, we recommend to apply One Cluster configuration. When more than one cluster are used, the Administrator must apply the Several Cluster configuration.

Here is the global picture of TPO redundancy in DNS mode:

topology

•Turret: turret must indicates the DNS server which manages the TPO cluster DNS name in it's SIP configuration. It could be the TPO's Mini DNS servers or the main DNS server.

•TPO cluster: the DNS names of the TPO cluster must be configured.  Each Group Id correspond to a DNS name of the TPO cluster.

Then the active TPO node running the Group Id is associated to the DNS name.

Each TPO of a cluster has a Mini DNS server which manage the couple "dns name - active node IP address".

Example: TPOtest.iptrdtest.local - 10.12.1.142.

•Main DNS Server: it's the main DNS Server on the customer side. The administrator may add a delegation zone to forward request to the Mini DNS server of TPO cluster.

•IP-PBX: it must support SIP DNS name, that means in a SIP message it only rely on DNS name instead of IP addresses (contact header, request header,….).
