Note: If a microphone is not connected, then the call is moved to the current handset. If you had another call on your handset, and select free HS is not enabled, call on current handset will either be cleared or put on hold, depending on the auto hold setting in the user settings menu. Latching modeWhen talking back on a speaker channel, three different latching modes can be configured: •Never Latch - The speaker channel only remains in talk back mode whilst the speaker channel key is held down. •Momentary Latch - The channel is latched to talk back mode if the speaker channel key is pressed and released within two seconds. If the key is held down for a longer period then the speaker channel only remains in talk back mode until the key is released. •Always Latch - The speaker channel is always latched to talk back mode when the channel key is pressed. You must press the channel key again to remove talk back. The default configuration for latching mode is Never Latch. Talking back to a groupYou can talk back over multiple speaker channels with a single keypress using a group key and use your microphone to talk back. Speaker channels must be assigned to the group key first for this functionality to work. You can create two talk back groups per VM8. You can talk back to more than one group at the same time by simply pressing and hold down multiple group keys.
If there is no microphone connected to the Netrix, then by default, Handset 1 will be used to talk back to all the far-party in the group. You will continue to hear the far party on speaker (not on your handset). If you have a call present on your Handset, this call will continue and your talk back will be heard by this call as well, but any audio that you hear from this call will only be heard by you on Handset, and not buy others in the talk back group. You can ask your administrator to change the default to be Handset 2 for talk back.
