Line Monitoring

Line keys and speaker channels enable traders to connect to private lines.  Line keys reflect the state of the private line in the system.  By pressing them, traders can connect the line to a speaker channel and listen to the distant party on the speaker.  Speaker channels show information on line activity, line usage on other turrets… and provide various controls to work on the line i.e. talk on the microphone, take the line on the handset, adjust volume, and voice broadcasting…

As stated, line keys reflect the state of the associated private lines terminated on the IPTrade systems.  Line keys can show one of the following conditions

•Idle – The private line is closed; no speech path is setup to the distant party ;

•Opened – The private line is opened but is not active on the local turret ;

•Active – The trader is connected to the line and the distant party can be heard on the speaker ;

•Exclusive – One trader is talking on the line and has requested exclusivity ;

•Signaled – The distant party has manually signaled the line (MRD circuits only) ;

The new capability is about extending the information reflected on the line keys by showing on top of the line state who is talking on the line.
