Ringtone set and volume association

Ring tones can be associated to five kinds of objects.

A private profile

Ring tone set and volume are mandatory on a private profile. These are used when no other ring tones / volume are found during shortcut matching.

A line

A ring tone set and volume can be associated to a telephony line, i.e. a telephony extension used by the trader on its dealer board. Administrator can freely associate either a ring tone set, a volume, or both. The order of the ring tone set – ring tone volume lookup steps will then depend on the type of the line:

•Normal: the line as no special attribute. In that case, the other kinds of objects are used to find a ringtone and a volume.

•Red: the line has been tagged as Red or Emergency on the administration console. In that case, the ringtone and volume associated to this line override any other configuration found in the other kinds of objects. For example, setting rigntone A / volume 5 in a DDI slot shortcut and ringtone B / volume 8 in the line result in ringtone B / volume 8 taking preceedence if the line is tagged as Red or Emergency.

A shortcut

A ring tone set / volume can be associated to a shortcut. In case of a shared shortcut, only administrator can change the ring tone set and volume through the TSS Console.

A shortcut page

A ring tone set / volume can be associated to a shortcut page. In case of a shared shortcut page, only administrator can change the ring tone set and volume through the TSS Console.

The relation between a shortcut and a shortcut page

Moreover, a ring tone set / volume can be set for a shortcut inside a specific shortcut page. The ring tone set / volume is then associated to the relation between the shortcut and that shortcut page.

This feature allows the user to redefine a ring tone set and a volume for a shared shortcut. To do so, he just has to associate the shared shortcut with one of his private shortcut pages, and then specify a ring tone set / volume for that shortcut inside that shortcut page.
