Provisioning

Provisioning allows the IT to insert a large number of items into the TSS database.

The input method is a text area that allows the IT to:

•Prepare the provisioning operation easily (copy-paste, etc.);

•Import generated rows from Excel;

•Keep the provisioning input text (for future use, or to re-use it on another TSS console).

The provisioning screen is accessible from:

•System > Provisioning. It is then sometimes necessary to specify each parent item name (at the beginning of each line)

•Or directly from the items lists, using the Provisioning button. There is no need to specify any parent name here..

The system will always check the input format and consistency before performing the provisioning operation. Thus, any error or inconsistency will prevent the entire operation from being performed. In other words, either the whole operation is performed (and all items are inserted) or nothing is inserted.

Note:

Attempting to insert a very large number of rows can produce a time-out error if the insertion operation takes more than 60 seconds. This depends on the performances of the TSS machine and database used. In this case, it is possible to increase the time-out value by modifying the web.config file or to split the input text in multiple provisioning operations.
