Devices & Users zones

Commonly, trading floors are organized in several groups of traders, each group operating on a specific market or trading a particular type of financial instruments e.g. bonds, derivatives, equities… Depending on the size of the organization, groups are made up of 3 to 15 positions and can be spread over the same open stage, over different floors in the same building or even over geographically distant locations.

The per-zone administration capability introduced in the TSS administration console is designed to reflect this organization in the system configuration and herewith to make some administrations tasks more straightforward.

Hence, IT & voice administrators start by defining the list of zones and by assigning each device – i.e. turrets, turret lites, TPO – to a particular zone.  As a result, following capabilities are enable in the TSS administration console

•Devices/sessions/users list – Various lists layout is updated to include the device’s zone and can be sorted or filtered on that new attribute ;

•Job policies – Scheduled tasks can be programmed to apply to one or to a selection of zones;

•Boot Settings (Turrets & TPOs) – Different options set can be used within each zone ; this is particularly useful to accommodate different IT and telephony environments when groups are spread across different cities/countries while being managed from a central TSS site ;

•TSS administrators access rights – The access rights assigned to TSS administrator accounts can be restricted to a single zone or to a selection of zones ;

•TSS system report – The layout of the TSS report is updated to include zone(s) .
