Enterprise Telephony > Common > DialPlan > Legacy mode (compatibility)

Let's say that the telephony infrastructure requires a zero to be prefixed to any number in order to reach an external phone party.

Placing an outbound call from a shortcut or the dialpad

The basic dialing rules allow configuring the prefix to add when performing a national call, and which extension length triggers this prefix.

Once the call is established, the turret will try to make it match a shortcut after removing every possible prefixes found in profile.setting.shortcut.prefixes (which contains a list of possible prefixes) from the call and the shortcut's call number.

Placing an outbound call from a PIM contact or a corporate search result

When having PIM shortcuts or corporate search results, special dialing rules can apply.

How dialing rules are applied

A call is considered internal when its address's length is Dial plan - Internal extension length (profile.setting.dialingrule.internalnumberlength) or less.

A call is considered international when its address's length is Dial plan - Internal phone number length (profile.setting.dialingrule.internationalnumberlength) or more.

When placing a call, if setting Dial plan - Activate dial rule (profile.setting.dialingrule.enabled) is true, dial plan is applied unless it is dialed from dialpad and Dial plan - Active from dialpad (profile.setting.dialingrule.fromdialpad) is false.

If call isn't internal, prefix Dial plan - National outbound call prefix (profile.setting.dialingrule.outgoingprefix) is added.

If call is international, prefix Dial plan - International outbound call prefix (profile.setting.dialingrule.internationaloutgoingprefix) is added.

Notes:

•Both prefixes are going to be added on international calls since these aren't internal.

To avoid that behavior, set Dial plan - International outbound use outbound call prefix (profile.setting.dialingrule.addoutgoingoninternational) to false.

•When creating a shortcut from call history, calllogs prefixes are added. If dialing rules are applied, both prefixes may be added.

To avoid that behavior, set Add prefix when creating shortcuts from history (profile.setting.calllogs.addprefixtoshortcuts) to false.

Receiving an inbound call, and redialing it

Dialing rules can also be applied when logging a received call in the Call History. A specific set of dialing rules also exist when redialing Call History entries.

For the received and missed calls the dial plan is applied. To apply it to the placed calls, see Configure.
