TPO Places
TPO use a general abstract concept of "place". A place is a TPO "resource unit" exposed to turrets and symbolized, most of the time, by an simple extension. A place bring some simple features like "Intercom" but also more advanced capabilities like DDI Sharing Lines. Administrator can start and stop places at will from the TSS console interface and thus activate and deactivate some TPO resource.
TPO Group ID
A TPO can run multiple places simultaneously, however it is mandatory to group all these places together with a common Group ID. Within a cluster, a unique GroupID will be assigned to each TPO and each places will be assigned a Group ID. In turn, when a TPO need to take in charge a bunch of places, it will focus only on places having the same groupID as the one assigned to itself. As a result, in a redundancy context, a cluster will simply "migrate" one groupID from one TPO to another in case of TPO failure. Administrator must first configure places with a freely defined group ID in order to assign this group ID to the TPO. To do so, in the "TPO Places" tab, click on "Add new". Then enter a name, an arbitrary group ID and a place type (the simplest one is "RingownDynamic").
Then press Save and Go Back.
Now you can access the list of the TPO Group ID and the TPO linked to the cluster from the TPO Cluster Tab.
Then inline edit the TPO Group ID (98875 here) by clicking on the small mouse button on the right and enter a TPO Name (TPO Name must contains atleast one dot).
When a TPO Name has been set, inline edit the TPO by clicking on the small mouse button on the right.
Select the existing Group ID and select "Active" role, confirm by pressing the small green arrow on the right.
Notes: •the configuration described here focus only on a single TPO while multiple TPO may have been linked to the same TPO cluster. Each TPO will have a distinct Group ID except "Passive" TPO that will "capture" the GroupID of a failing TPO if necessary. See the TPO Clusters section for more information. •A TPO Role = "Idle" means that TPO will never be used for active or passive (backup) role, it is simply connected to TSS for maintenance purpose.
