Limitations

This chapter discuss limitations and restrictions inherent to TPO Hot Backup. Limitations are also related to system configuration

•TPO, Setup places

Group ID & Cisco UCM Devices

It’s well known that the different lines - directory numbers – of a same Cisco UCM device have to be registered from the same IP Address / Port. For that reason TPO places that use different lines of a same Cisco UCM device have to be configured with the same Group ID.

•Viritual IP Mode,  Hot Backup limitations

Topology

•The virtual IP address and the local IP address must be on the same NIC.

•Intermittent cuts of network (Flip/Flop state) may cause virtual IP address conflicts.

TSS management console

• when a group Id is added or VIP (or VIP Mask) is changed, a restart of TPO services of all nodes is required.
