Networking > Wideband audio codecs support

Limitations and known issues

•Only the no patented codec G.722 is supported.

•Only Turret with XMA2 and Soft Turret (FlexPro, FlexPro + XMA2, FlexCom) support G722/L16.

Per Call Bandwidth

•Bandwidth Calculation Formulas for  Ethernet

Total packet size = Ethernet + (IP/UDP/RTP header) + (voice payload size)

PPS = (codec bit rate) / (voice payload size)

Bandwidth = total packet size * PPS

Example for L16:

Total packet size = 18 (Ethernet)  + 40 (IP/UDP/RTP header)  + 360 = 3344 bits

PPS = 128 000 / (360 *8) = 44 pps

Bandwidth = 3344*44 =  147.136 Kbps

•The following table contains the bandwidth calculation
