TSS

Starting with 8.0 version, Global Turret Settings are replaced by boot settings associated to turret/TPO devices. Existing settings are not automatically migrated and are lost if they are not manually backed up prior to performing the upgrade. The practical way to back them up is to copy-paste.

FTP

Migrating from 8.0 requires a new IP address as the new FTP site must be separated from the previous one. The IP address used for 7.x FTP cannot be reused with 8.0 otherwise 7.x version will not be functional anymore. UIM takes in charge FTP copy and migration to another FTP folder however administrator needs to associate the new IP address with an FTP site pointing to this new folder.

Turret image

Starting with 8.1 version, the mandatory turret image is at least IPT7-GM45-15-05 (8GB CF Cards)

Windows XP embedded or N270 devices are not supported.

Turret console device

ITAC devices are not supported anymore.

Turret interface

The fifth applet (shortcut or floating keys) is removed and not supported anymore. Any existing fifth applet configuration will be ignored by the turret and shortcuts must be manually linked to another applet in order to keep them constantly visible on the screen.

Turret firmware

Starting with 8.0, there is no way to assign a specific turret firmware to a single turret. Administrator should create a zone and assign the turret to that zone in order to change a firmware to a single turret

Deprecated TPO places

Place type JoinAlways, Multicastslot, onetomany, staticIP and hunt has been removed. Adminsitrator must configure DDI sharing manually in order to replace them.

TPO settings defined on TSS console

Several names of setting has changed for TPO to distinguish these settings from those of Turrets. If one or several of these settings have been set with different value from default one, administrator must set new settings with values from previous version. For example, if setting application.sip.register.bulk has been set with true value on previous version, setting application.sip.tpo.register.bulk must be set with true value (because application.sip.register.bulk doesn't exist anymore since 8.0). Here are settings which has changed :

Shortcut grid size

Due to the shortcut grid size change in 8.x, the following configuration must be applied to each profile that uses positional pages in order to keep the shortcut layout identical:

1.If pages are linked to central shortcuts panels in Wide (extended) mode and you want to keep the layout as it was before, set this key in the user/shared profile : "profile.setting.gridbutton.minwidth = 100,105,140" (zoom the shortcuts to have 8 columns)

2.If pages are linked to central shortcuts panels in Wide (normal) mode and you want to keep the layout as it was before, set this key in the user/shared profile : "profile.setting.gridbutton.minwidth = 95,105,140" (zoom the shortcuts to have 5 columns)
